WHY IRAN NEEDS TO FUEL MIDDLE EAST TURMOIL

http://www.iranfreedom.org/en/opinion/1449-why-iran-needs-to-fuel-middle-east-turmoil

We have witnessed over the past four decades Iran’s desperate need to create turmoil inside its own borders and abroad to quell dissent, justifying all measures to achieve this.Through such a perspective we can analyze the unseen truth behind the events of the June 7th twin ISIS attacks in Tehran. The surfacing of more facts and evidence have raised speculation that this entire turn of events was a scenario blueprinted by Tehran.
Both parties benefited, with Tehran finding pretexts to portray itself the victim of terrorism and to thus justify any and all following actions domestically and abroad. And for ISIS, suffering major setbacks in Iraq and Syria, staging such an attack in the heart of Tehran would be a necessary boost in morale amongst its dwindling rank and files.
Focusing on the needs of the Iranian regime, the aftermath of last month’s presidential election resulted in escalated factional disputes. A resulting domino effect allowed increasing voices of protests in cities across the country, making the ruling apparatus desperate for elevating the security clampdown.

http://www.ahewar.org/debat/show.art.asp?aid=563242

Former Italian Foreign Minister: It's time for Europe to align itself with the US in standing up to Iran

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/06/18/former-italian-foreign-minister-its-time-for-europe-to-align-itself-with-us-in-standing-up-to-iran.html#

Since the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany concluded their nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, several Iranian ballistic missile tests have been carried out. It is one of several facts that leaves no doubt about the persistence of defiant attitudes and threats to the international community coming out of the Iranian regime.
Even though such tests are plain violations of a UN Security Council resolution that accompanied implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the global media and the nations of Europe have given unfortunately little attention to the issue. Under the previous administration, the White House downplayed such activities, which are obvious violations of the spirit of the closely-guarded JCPOA. Washington’s apparent dismissiveness also set the tone for the responses of European officials.
President Donald Trump is, rightly, developing an assertive policy toward the Islamic Republic. This includes a sharper focus on illicit ballistic missile tests. When the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) conducted another such test in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s inauguration, his administration responded by putting the Islamic Republic “on notice” over its destabilizing activities in the region. More recently, the White House has moved to new sanctions on the ballistic missile program. The U.S. Senate voted almost unanimously Friday to impose new sanctions on Iran (and Russia) for its missile program among other activities.

Youth Supporters of MEK: Responsibility to Attend Iranian Opposition Convention

http://newsblaze.com/world/middle-east/youth-supporters-of-mek-responsibility-to-attend-iranian-opposition-convention_81579/

On July 1st thousands of Iranians will gather in Paris to support the movement to obtain freedom and democracy for their homeland. The convention is organized each year by the Iranian opposition movement (#PMOI/MEK). Iranian youth especially look forward to this event as it’s a time to come together and support human rights.
Too often we hear about the arrests, ill-treatment, and executions of Iran’s youth population.
Reports indicate 10 inmates were executed merely a few days after the 2017 Iranian elections, including 30-year-old Abdulkarim Shahnavazi. Reports also emerged that 24-year-old Diyako Hashemi was killed under torture by Iranian intelligence agents. Two men in their 30s were sentenced to have their fingers amputated and 90 children were also arrested in Sepidan, central Iran. The Iranian regime has a history of raiding gatherings and parties, and imprisoning the attendees, which has heightened during the past few years.
Political prisoner Ms. Atena Daemi was recently on hunger strike for 54 days protesting against the arrest of her sisters. Political prisoner Arash Sadeghi was previously on hunger strike for 71 days protesting against the imprisonment of his wife, Golrokh Iraee.

ANALYSIS: Iran’s future after new US sanctions

https://english.alarabiya.net/en/perspective/features/2017/06/19/ANALYSIS-Iran-s-future-after-new-US-sanctions.html

The regime in Tehran continues to be in a state of shock after the passage of unprecedented United States Senate sanctions on Thursday targeting Iran’s ballistic missile program, support for terrorism in the Middle East and flagrant human rights violations.
Many of the new measures imposed on Iran are far more complex than any sanctions even prior to the Iran nuclear deal. There is no need for the Trump administration to tear up the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as these new sanctions provide the US President vast authority for further punitive action. This new initiative also contains a classified amendment believed to describe Iran as an extremely dangerous state.

The threats

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir highlighted the importance of this threat after a recent meeting with his British counterpart in London.
“If Iran seeks respect it must bring an end to supporting terrorism, bombing embassies and spreading sectarianism… Iran also supports terrorism, meddles in others’ affairs, fuels sectarianism, and dispatches the Revolutionary Guards in Iraq, Syria and Yemen,” he said.
Further signs of the mullahs’ devious intentions are seen as Iran is reported to provide cruise missiles to Yemen’s Houthis and resulting in a grave threat to the strategic Bab el-Mandeb waterway, according to the US.

Onward With Iranian Resistance: Regime Change Is Within Reach

In Discussing Middle East Policy, US Should Acknowledge the Goal of Regime Change

https://townhall.com/columnists/ivansheehan/2017/06/19/in-discussing-middle-east-policy-us-should-acknowledge-the-goal-of-regime-change-n2343186

The election of Donald Trump last year set the stage for major changes in U.S. foreign policy and particularly American policy toward the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was clear on the campaign trail that Trump’s views on Iran could hardly be more different than those of his predecessor, Barack Obama. Almost six months into his first term the administration is now well positioned to lay the foundation for a lasting Middle East legacy by boldly embracing the goal of regime change in Tehran.
Whereas the Obama administration took great pride in the Iran nuclear deal it helped to negotiate, then GOP candidate Trump repeatedly referred to the agreement as one of the worst deals ever negotiated and promised to overturn it upon assuming office. Although the Trump White House is technically upholding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it has also imposed tough new sanctions on the regime that are unrelated to the Iranian nuclear program. #Iran policies now under development suggest that an explicit endorsement of regime change may well be on the horizon.

This time the West ought to back Iranians who seek regime change

This time the West ought to back Iranians who seek regime change

As the international community watched to see who would be pulled out of the ballot box in Iran’s Presidential election last month, many Iranians refused to participate in the process, seeing no real prospect for change in their country and not wanting to encourage the perception of legitimacy for the existing government.
Despite state media propaganda of a high turnout (which the regime has claimed at each of its sham polls), this time the online social sphere was full of images of empty voting stations and posters on walls calling for a boycott. The organized boycott was led by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (#PMOI or MEK), the principle opposition group to the Ayatollahs’ regime.
The country’s leading opposition group has continued to attract support throughout the past three decades, even after regime authorities attempted to destroy the group in the midst of a massacre of political prisoners, which killed 30,000 in the summer of 1988. It has also continued to accumulate supporters and organize activist demonstrations in the four years since Rouhani took office on promises of greater civil rights and less restrictions on cultural activities and free expression.
The undiminished appeal of the #PMOI is indicative of how little has changed in the wake of Rouhani’s election. As a matter of fact, some conditions inside the country have only grown worse, with the Rouhani administration overseeing approximately 3,000 executions and an enhanced crackdown on activists, journalists, dual nationals, and many other sectors. The administration’s true feelings about human rights issues were made clear the moment Rouhani chose Mostafa Pourmohammadi as his Justice Minister: a man who had served as one of the four judges on the “death commission” that determined whom to hang in 1988.

Iran's triangle of fear

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/06/irans_triangle_of_fear.html
There is a Persian proverb saying those fearing the dark scream to overcome their fears.  Iran, considering its domestic and foreign dilemmas, resembles that very individual who is afraid of the dark and is screaming to overcome its fears.
"[A] filthy regional war came to life following the June 7th incident led by Trump, [Iranian opposition leader] Maryam Rajavi and [Saudi Foreign Minister] Adel al-Jubeir," according to a report by Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.  "[T]he positions are taken by various countries after the terrorist incident indicated their relations to the terror campaigners and those who planned it. Trump resorted to a certain language signaling threats and revenge. Trump used terms better resembling the truth of US policy vis-à-vis the Middle East. Each party has revealed their mentality regarding terrorism, terror attacks[.] ... [T]he truth is the policy of terror, fear and spreading hatred is continuing by the Trump-Jubeir-Maryam Rajavi triangle[.]"

http://www.iranfocus.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31676:what-is-the-right-policy-towards-iran-and-the-mek&catid=50&Itemid=137

http://www.iranfocus.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=31676:what-is-the-right-policy-towards-iran-and-the-mek&catid=50&Itemid=137
It is sometimes now that many US officials have been talking about Iran and the actions that US must take towards Iran. In a hearing in the congress, the Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, in response to a question about the US policy towards Iran said: “Well our Iranian policy is under development. It’s not yet been delivered to the president, but I would tell you that we certainly recognize Iran’s continued destabilizing presence in the region, their payment of foreign fighters, their export of militia forces in Syria, in Iraq, in Yemen, their support for Hezbollah. And we are taking action to respond to Iran’s hegemony. Additional sanctions actions have been put in place against individuals and others.”
“We continually review the merits both from the standpoint of diplomatic but also international consequences of designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in its entirety as a terrorist organization,” he added. “As you know, we have designated the Quds [Force]. Our policy towards Iran is to push back on this hegemony, contain their ability to develop obviously nuclear weapons, and to work toward support of those elements inside of Iran that would lead to a peaceful transition of that government. Those elements are there, certainly as we know.”
The fact is that for years Iranian people have been seeking for a regime change, but the brutal internal suppression, and international and especially US policy of appeasement towards Iran have been the main obstacles to reach this goal.

Iranian officials: Western states responsible for terrorist attacks in London

On Sunday, June 4, after vicious attacks by Islamic extremists in London, Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei blamed Western countries for the attacks.
"Today, ISIS is driven from its birthplace in Iraq and Syria into other countries, going to Afghanistan and Pakistan, and even the Philippines, European countries and elsewhere. They began this fire and now it has set them ablaze," he said.
Tehran formally condemned the terrible May 22 bombing in Manchester.  Yet the reactions of various senior Iranian officials portrayed a sense of satisfaction.
Maj. Gen. Mohsen Rezaii, secretary of the Expediency Council and former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), tweeted that the "[t]errorist explosion in Manchester is the result of Trump's sword dance with the chief of terrorists."
Text and a photo on Twitter immediately released by Iran's official news agency gave major political meaning to these statements:

Iran: UNESCO’s 2030 document rescinded

http://www.women.ncr-iran.org/iran-women-news/4016-iran-unesco-s-2030-document-rescinded

The UN 2030 document on education was officially rescinded on June 23, 2017, in a meeting of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, presided by the mullahs’ president, Hassan Rouhani.
The majority of SCCR members voted for a document adopted under the previous president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to be the criterion in all educational matters. And the UNESCO’s 2030 Framework for Action document would no longer be a point of reference.
UNESCO’s document 2030 calls for gender equality in educational opportunities and the Iranian regime had signed it with reservations.
Earlier that day, 151 members of the mullahs’ parliament (Majlis) had signed a letter to Hassan Rouhani demanding that the 2030 document be officially withdrawn. (The state-run Fars news agency, June 13, 2030)
The regime thus once again demonstrated its antagonism to equal opportunities for women, a policy that is deeply intertwined with the regime’s survival in power.

NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION: IS IRAN MISLEADING THE WORLD?

http://www.iranfreedom.org/en/nuclear/1349-nuclear-proliferation-is-iran-misleading-the-world

by Dr. Majid Rafizadeh
Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, recently said Tehran is fully prepared to mass-produce various types of centrifuges. More importantly, some state-owned newspapers have reported that Iran has already begun doing so. This should be taken seriously, as it means Tehran is trying to significantly decrease its nuclear breakout time — the length of time it needs to produce a nuclear weapon.
When the nuclear deal was reached, the breakout time was an estimated two to three months. The agreement was supposed to increase the breakout time to a year, but given the boasts about mass-producing centrifuges, Tehran is likely trying to reduce the breakout time to less than two months.
There are serious doubts about the ability of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to detect such violations of the nuclear deal. Indeed, most of Iran’s nuclear violations in the last two decades were initially detected by independent organizations, not by the IAEA.
Iran has been caught several times trying to breach the nuclear deal. The first violation was reported by Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, which said Tehran was pursuing a “clandestine” path to obtain illicit nuclear technology and equipment from German companies “at what is, even by international standards, a quantitatively high level.” The next two violations, verified by the IAEA, entailed Iran exceeding its threshold for heavy water, used to produce nuclear weapons.
Tehran’s public boasts about mass-producing centrifuges highlights serious loopholes in the nuclear deal. Evidently, the IAEA does not have full access to Iran’s nuclear sites, centrifuge equipment or all the locations where they are being manufactured.
The IAEA ought to investigate Iran’s centrifuge activities more thoroughly. With existing intelligence reports, the US can pressure the IAEA and the other brokers of the nuclear deal to ensure Iran’s compliance with it, and to address existing loopholes.

IRAN'S PROPOSED ZUMBA BAN CRITICIZED

http://www.iranfreedom.org/en/human-rights/1340-iran-s-proposed-zumba-ban-criticized

Iranian Regime has been receiving a lot of criticism over a proposed ban on the exercise class Zumba by a local sports federation.
The Iran Sport for All Federation wrote a letter to the Regime’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, calling for the exercise class and others like it to be banned because it contravenes “Islamic ideology".
Ali Majdara, the President of Iran Sport for All, posted the letter on the Iran's sports ministry website on June 7, arguing that the Regime should be aiming to "develop athletics for everyone in the framework of supreme Islamic ideology and the Islamic Republic of Iran's sports structure".
He continued: "Please issue a regulation to ban some activities, such as Zumba, which includes rhythmic motions and dance and is unlawful in any shape and title."
Many social media users in Iran and around the world have mocked the proposal using the hashtag #Zumba, with one comparing the decision to that of ISIS ("The Oscar for the most Daeshi [so-called Islamic State group] news of the day goes to this...") and one posing that this could have an unfortunate and unforeseen impact on relations with Columbia, where the Zumba dance is thought to have originated ("Have Colombia not summoned the Iranian ambassador yet?").

IRAN'S DANGEROUS, NATIONWIDE PHENOMENON OF LAND SUBSIDENCE DUE TO DISASTROUS POLICIES

http://www.iranfreedom.org/en/inside-iran/1350-iran-s-dangerous-nationwide-phenomenon-of-land-subsidence-due-to-disastrous-policies

Spread of the devastating scourge of land subsidence in today’s Iran, in addition to country’s other life-threatening crises, is yet another catastrophic crisis which is totally a result of Iranian regime’s anti-people and anti-national policies.
Land subsidence in some areas is so severe that it has reduced buildings’ resistance to earthquake to only four in Richter scale.
Damage to infrastructures, breaking and bursting of water and natural gas distribution lines, destruction of bridges, roads and railways, damage to utility poles, dwindling water supply and eventually drying up and sanitization of water wells and farmlands are among serious consequences of land subsidence.
The growing dimensions of this new yet devastating scourge, which is totally a result of predatory policies adopted by regime’s water mafia, are so huge that regime’s experts predict it could lead to evacuation of Tehran and other big cities like Isfahan.
The threats raised by the scourge of land subsidence in Iran will even be multiplied when we know that due to non-deployment of world’s conventional approaches for retrofitting the cities as well as lack of the least safety measures in buildings, Iran’s big cities now own the world’s worst and most dangerous infrastructures against incidents and urban hazards, so much so that of the world’s 43 types of natural disasters, 32 are currently underway in Iran’s cities.
